Faith that Sees through the Culture

Sometimes when Christians struggle, we wonder whether
something is wr ong with us. W e may ask, “Is this normal? Am I
truly Christian?” The truth is tha t all Chris tians are confronted with
hardship. What counts, however, is wha t the Lor d says about the se
things. In ligh t of God’s Word, Christians struggle with wha t comes
at them fr om the outside, as w ell as wha t they experience from the
inside. Our mort al enemies are the w orld, Satan, and the sin within
us. 2 Corin thians 5:7 teaches, “We walk by faith, not b y sight.” Our
faith—created by the Holy Spirit thr ough the W ord of Chris t—leads
us to see what threatens us as w e “see through the culture,” the
world, and the deception of sin.
